The privileged situation of the watchtower of the Ducal Palace of Béjar allows you to enjoy a unique experience through a visit to the camera obscura, an optical instrument capable of obtaining the flat projection of an image on part of its interior surface, and which constituted one of the ancestral devices that led to the development of photography.

The camera obscura in Béjar consists of an opening at the top of the tower spire and an optical system with a mirror, as well as a fantastic set of lenses through which the images are projected overhead and onto a concave screen scenes that take place outside. Its privileged situation allows a real-time 360-degree view of the wonderful historic center of the town, offering a vision of all nature, highlighting the chestnut forests, the powerful Sierra de Béjar, the Sierra de Francia and the wonderful peaks from Valdesangil.
